The Life Story of Betty Jane Hedgspeth

Betty Jane Hedgspeth was born on July 30, 1947, the baby of thirteen (13) children to the late Hugh William and Gertrude Bowers Hedgspeth. She peacefully departed this earthly tabernacle on Tuesday, August 31, 2021, at the Unity Medical Center in Manchester, Tennessee.

Betty Jane attended the P H Johnson School in Lincoln County, Tennessee, and later obtained her General Education Diploma. She was an avid seamstress, loved to crochet, and known in the family for her banana pudding. She also loved her plants and flowers. She truly was born with a green thumb. After many decades of working in the manufacturing industry, she was able to enjoy life in its simplicity after retiring from Goodman- Daikan Manufacturing.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by a daughter, Vicki Rochelle Hedgspeth, sisters: Rosie Lee Henderson, Katie Ruth Mastin, Martha Elizabeth Robinson, Perlie Mae Goodrich, Helen Blake, Sue Ann Hedgspeth Wilson, Dorothy Singleton, and Evelyn Moseley; brothers: Houston Hedgspeth, James Hedgspeth, William Hedgspeth, and Bobby Hedgspeth.

Betty Jane is survived by her loving children: Gary (Michella) Hedgspeth), Kaye (Johnny Jefferson) Hedgspeth, and Deedra (Jesse Jones) Hedgspeth; grandchildren: Kasheena Buchanan, Teresha Hawk, LaRicka Howard, Julian Hedgspeth, and Teegan Hedgspeth; five great- grandchildren; two devoted nieces: Vanessa Wells and Dorinda Wilson; a host of nieces and nephews, great nieces, great nephews, cousins, and loved ones.
